AS MOVING DAY APPROACHES:

Discontinue deliveries, electricity, water, gas, newspaper, and any others you may have.

Check on personal items that might be at the photo shop, bank safe deposit box, neighbor's house, on lay-away in in the repair shop (i.e. shoe repair, jewelry store, small appliance repair, cleaners, etc.)

Make arrangements for transporting plants and pets.

Gather all valuables, jewelry, important papers (birth certificates, deeds, documents) to take with you personally.

Pack an arrival kit of necessities in case you arrive before the mover.

Change your address at:  Post office, charge accounts, subscriptions (at least four weeks in advance), driver's license and auto registration, church, firms with which you have time payments, friends and relatives.
